Florida Biodiesel Fire: The Trend Continues

Florida Biodiesel Fire: The Trend Continues

Last Thursday (September 24, 2009) a fire was reported in a biodisel plant near Osceola County in Florida. The biodiesel plant was owned by New Eden Energy. There were no fatalities or injuries.

Earlier, I had pointed out the need for safety in biofuel plants. Based on incident data I reviewed, the U.S.  biodiesel industry is experiencing a fire/explosion event every two-and-a-half months.

The last reported fire in a biodiesel plant was in Chicago on July 17, 2009…9-weeks later another fire at a biodiesel plant in the Sunshine State.

So…do you want me to recommend you what stocks to buy?
