Chemical Process Risk Assessment
We have provided consulting services to clients across the world on process safety and risk assessment issues. Typically, our assignments involve HAZOP/PHA/LOPA/SIL facilitation, consequence modeling, and QRA studies for process units or pipelines. Battery Fires and Recall
The lithium polymer batteries at two of our client’s site caught on fire and exploded. The client wanted to know the business risks and evaluate future options. We first investigated the dangerous failure modes and predicted potential failures based on mathematical modeling. We then looked into various alternate technologies - Lead acid, NiCd, and Lithium polymer. Based on our analysis we quantified relative risks between available technologies and guided the client in deciding on a recall.
